At CMC, you’ll do it on a stage that supports bridges, buildings, roads, and the communities they connect. As a Plant Equipment Mechanic, your work turns into tangible impact. What Will I Do? Imagine starting your shift with a plan—and the freedom to solve problems. You’ll: Inspect equipment throughout the day to catch defects before they become downtime Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance and record everything—time entry, work orders, notifications, corrective actions Diagnose and repair overhead cranes, shears, benders, threaders, forges, induction heaters, and welders Complete safe, full-scope repairs with hand, power, and precision tools—even at heights and in tough conditions Support building maintenance needs Order parts and supplies and track purchase requisitions when required Maintain spotless housekeeping; keep equipment and tools in peak condition Join forces with other Technicians on job orders and complex troubleshooting Cross-train and attend extensive equipment training to expand your range Champion our CMC Safety Programs and Safety Culture Jump in to handle additional duties as needed

Requirements

  • At least 4 years in industrial maintenance (heavy industrial preferred)
  • Proven mechanical and electrical skills; hydraulics familiarity is a plus
  • Comfort reading service manuals/technical documentation and writing clearly
  • Welding skills preferred
  • Strong work ethic with safe habits; strict adherence to OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies
  • Team-oriented, detail-focused, and driven to find root causes in a fast-moving setting
  • Proficiency with hand, power, and precision tools for end-to-end repairs
  • Ability to work outside in all weather (heat and cold)
  • Availability for rotating shifts with some required overtime and additional overtime as needed
  • Physical capability to lift 50 lbs , climb ladders and steps, and work outdoors when needed
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required.
