About The Position

The Plant Controller is responsible for supervising accounting and administrative staff, including Accounting Assistants, MRO Coordinator, and Receptionist. Key financial duties include auditing payroll, authorizing purchase requisitions and orders, overseeing accounts payable, and monitoring sales and use taxes. The role also involves evaluating bids, interfacing with corporate IT for computer and software needs, supporting the Manufacturing Operating System (MOS) by reporting measurables, calculating cost savings, and initiating actions to prevent non-conformities related to product, processes, and the quality system. The position requires a college degree or equivalent experience, with a preference for at least 3 years of experience in the field.

Responsibilities

Supervises Accounting Assistants, MRO Coordinator, and Receptionist.
Periodically audit the payroll information for accuracy.
Authorize all purchase requisitions and purchase orders and interface with corporate controllers as needed on large purchases.
Supervise the accounts' payable function and review all invoices and account charges.
Monitor all invoices for correct accounting of Sales and Use Taxes.
Authority to request various bids as needed in accordance with purchasing guidelines and evaluate all quotes.
Interface with corporate Information Systems personnel on all new computer purchases and software programs and assist in maintaining computer equipment.
Support MOS by overseeing the reporting of measurables and updating of reports.
Calculate cost savings and paybacks.
Authorized to initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, processes, and quality system.
Performs other essential functions as assigned.
