Job Description What You Get To Do: The Planning Supervisor oversees and/or creates plans, schedules, and priority lists. This position coordinates and/or monitors the flow of products through the complete production cycle. This position provides timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders to the production floor to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates and expectations. Supervisory responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training Inventory and Planning employees; assigning, evaluating, and managing work; appraising performance; motivating, recognizing, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The Planning Supervisor works closely with leadership of Production, Quality, Shipping and Receiving, Order Management, Customer Service, and Supply Chain to schedule production and to ensure products are shipped on time. Other responsibilities include maintaining up to date shipping schedules for all orders, managing change orders and expedites, working closely with the packing and shipping department to support unique, customer-driven shipping and labeling requirements. Challenge Yourself – The Specifics: Oversees and/or creates the daily schedules for product assembly and shipping of multiple products based on open sales orders and material availability Notify Customer Service of any schedule impacts to customers Validates accuracy of sales orders prior to issuing to production and shipping Leverages ERP/MRP system for maximum accuracy and synchronization with other business units Monitors manufacturing inventory for accuracy, aging, turnovers, and valuation Creates custom reports and metrics to verify continuous process improvement Coordinates schedule change requirements to maximize customer satisfaction Recruits, hires, trains, evaluates, develops, coaches, and leads Inventory and Planning staff Progresses and enhances the working environment through employee engagement, results, and accountability Evaluates human capital and material resource requirements Serves as a positive role model for department personnel in all aspects of conduct Exercises judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action and/or suggest process improvements as needed/required Performs additional duties as assigned
