Description Summary: The Supervisor, Manufacturing Planning supports the Switchgear business unit in Anderson, SC by leading the planning team to develop and maintain accurate production schedules that meet customer delivery commitments and align with operational capacity for electrical switchgear products. This role partners with cross-functional departments to optimize supply chain performance and drive on-time deliveries. Responsibilities: Plan and schedule production orders to meet Original Promise Dates, ensuring all new orders are accurately planned and updated in the ERP system and planning tools. Lead, develop and mentor the planning team , assign daily tasks, monitor throughput, ensure planning accuracy, and coach planners through issue resolution in Tier II meetings. Drive standardized planning processes across the organization by implementing, enforcing, and continuously improving planning methodologies (e.g., VOS tools) from order entry through shipment. Provide proactive exception management , including early alerts for material shortages, capacity constraints, and production delays, and develop mitigation plans in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. Cross-functional collaboration and communication with Purchasing, Warehouse, Finance, Engineering, Sales, and Project Delivery teams to align production plans and resolve conflicts impacting delivery performance. Represent the planning function in Tier III meetings in the absence of the Manager, Manufacturing Planning. Report planning performance on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to multiple departments and leadership. Participate in control point meetings to review team performance, metrics, and project progress. Analyze performance metrics and drive improvements in planning accuracy, on-time delivery, and responsiveness. Support ERP and IT initiatives by identifying system issues, supporting implementations, and coordinating with IT for enhancements. Perform other duties as assigned by the direct manager, ensuring support of broader operational goals. Education & Certifications: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing planning or production experience Preferred Advanced analytical skills Lean, Six Sigma Experience/Certifications ERP system certifications or supply chain related certificates (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain, SAP or Oracle modules) Requirements: Minimum 3+ years of relevant manufacturing planning or production experience, including supervisory or team-lead experience Strong organizational skills Prior experience with ERP/MRP systems, production scheduling, and cross-functional coordination Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and interact effectively with personnel to accomplish tasks Must be action-oriented with an eye for finding opportunity and solving problems Detail oriented with ability to complete tasks in timely manner The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.
