About The Position

Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Manufacturing Planning Planner at our West Chester Regional Office in West Chester, Ohio. The Manufacturing Planning Planner will generate the steel production schedules for our facilities as needed utilizing an extensive knowledge of products, order processing flow, initiating material movement, tracking production and accounting of schedules in process. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business or related field or at least two (2) years of experience in a related field
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional Excel skills (including linking of data/files, function usage such as VLOOKUP)
  • Available to work weekends, holidays and evenings as needed

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor’s degree involving analytical skills such as decision science, information systems, manufacturing or industrial engineering
  • SQL programming exposure, SAS skills or ability to use database retrieval tools to acquire data needed in problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Plan production schedules to optimize customer service, maximize shipments, and meet inventory goals at the Hot Mill unit
  • Review actual production data to determine variations from plan or schedule and to suggest, evaluate, and implement appropriate changes to the next steel production schedule(s)
  • Communicate special situations/instructions to other planning groups, operations personnel, and/or sales personnel as needed
  • Recommend systems enhancement opportunities to improve schedule results
  • Function as an alternate point of contact for sales and quality personnel to accommodate material requiring special attention and/or processing
  • Inform others of exceptions/problems involving systems, inventory or operating personnel whether resolved or in need of resolution
  • Create special schedules as directed by Quality Control, Operating personnel, Leadership
  • Other duties as assigned
