About The Position

Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate need for a Planner in the Manufacturing Planning department located at our Indiana Harbor facility in East Chicago, Indiana. The planner will be responsible for the production scheduling, timely movement and on-time flow of inventory of our high-quality steel at the Indiana Habor facility. This role requires a dynamic individual capable of strong coordination and collaboration between various internal departments including production units, quality, maintenance, and logistics. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field or at least two (2) years of experience in a related field
  • Exceptional Excel skills (including pivot tables, linking of data/files, diagnosis of V-lookups)
  • Strong analytical and data acquisition skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with different personalities across functions and organization levels
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to achieve desired results

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field
  • Two plus years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Power BI

Responsibilities

  • Plan production schedules to optimize customer service, maximize shipments, and meet inventory goals
  • Resolve scheduling issues with operations management
  • Participate and support delivery initiatives and improvements
  • Work with Expeditors and Customer Service to ensure schedules are meeting customer requirements
  • Participate in training activities as needed
  • Available to work weekends, holidays, and evenings, as needed
  • Other duties as requested
