About The Position

Responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities related to planning work orders to meet customer delivery deadlines. Includes managing the production schedule, reviewing material lead time, scheduling orders based on available labor and materials, and supporting purchasing activities to ensure timely and cost-effective material availability. Works cohesively and in coordination with production supervisors, operations colleagues, procurement, and customer service. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of packaging manufacturing or the willingness to learn about products produced on site.

Requirements

  • 3+ years Excel Experience (VLOOKUP formulas, pivot tables, SUMIFS formulas, tables, external references).
  • 2+ years experience in manufacturing.
  • ERP experience.
  • Experience supporting purchasing, procurement, or supply chain functions, including purchase order management, supplier coordination, and inventory planning.

Nice To Haves

  • Packaging experience preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing production schedule and ERP system for new orders and new release orders.
  • Collaborate with procurement on product delivery, supplier performance, and material availability for production.
  • Collaborate with design on material substitutions, considering cost, lead time, and supplier capabilities.
  • Plans, prepares and controls production schedules and tracks material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
  • Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, and prepares work orders or purchase requisitions based on a master production schedule.
  • Supports purchasing activities including creating and managing purchase orders, monitoring supplier lead times, and expediting materials as needed to meet production deadlines.
  • Evaluates inventory levels and purchasing needs to balance production demands while minimizing excess inventory and stockouts.
  • Works with suppliers and procurement to resolve material shortages, quality issues, and delivery delays.
  • Checks job packets given to production to ensure all information is correct and all paperwork is complete before releasing to production.
  • Works with maintenance to incorporate scheduled machine downtime.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to optimize purchasing decisions to reduce work-in-process inventory and overall raw material costs.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills with employees and colleagues to ensure operations run smoothly.
  • Ability to multi-task and shows willingness to help/support other team members.
  • Positive attitude and easily adaptable to company change in policies/procedures.
  • Always promotes a respectful and professional work environment.
  • Receives instructions and guidance from lateral and superior colleagues with an open mind.
