About The Position

Baylor University is seeking a Placements Manager in the Online Communication Sciences and Disorders Graduate Program department. This role supports the mission of the University by managing, assisting, and directly supporting all clinical education processes, and more importantly the students, in an effort to ensure their retention and success in clinical education, and as they forward in their career. The position requires significant contact primarily with faculty, administrators, students, and with internal and external constituents at placement sites to locate and secure clinical placements. Advanced knowledge is required in planning and completing assignments, resolving conflicts, and coordinating work. This position is also responsible for documenting and analyzing clinical data for outcomes, certification, and program planning. Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree and less than a year of relevant work experience required.
  • All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate confidence in interpersonal communication and teamwork including ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Candidate will also demonstrate knowledge of correct business practices and correspondence including English grammar, composition, spelling, and punctuation.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s degree in Speech/Language Pathology and two years of relevant work experience are preferred.
  • Additional education or experience may be considered in lieu of one another.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first and primary point of contact for building a network of possible clinical placement sites that provide a diverse, professional, and enriching clinical experience for CSD graduate students each semester
  • Support students during the placement process by collaborating with student clinicians, placement supervisors, and the Associate Director of Placements to provide consistent guidance before and during clinical placements
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Program Director and Associate Director of Placements to evaluate clinical sites and supervisors for potential clinical placements
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager of Clinical Placements to initiate the contractual process
  • Maintain records of student placements and manage all student placement databases for accreditation purposes
  • Communicate with students during the placement process by accepting placement suggestions, providing placement updates, and sharing expectations of clinical sites and the online CSD program
  • Initiate affiliation agreement processes between clinical sites and Baylor University, secure templates for contracts, collect contact information, and forward information to contract managers
  • Accountable for the custody of confidential information and for delivering accurate measurables to guarantee program compliance related to clinical education
  • Contribute information and recommendation to strategic planning, program assessment, and reviews
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
  • Ability to comply with university policies
