About The Position

The pipewelder welds together piping metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders or oral instructions. The pipewelder utilizes knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and non-metallic materials including the specifications of the particular equipment to be used in the process.

Requirements

• Must have at least 3 years of pipe welding experience.
• Must be able to provide welds to meet ASME B31standards.
• Must be able to self-inspect their welds to make sure they meet ASME B31 standards prior to turning over each weld to their supervisor.
• Must be able to complete daily weld footage that is required by the company’s standards.

Nice To Haves

• Prior pipewelding experience is preferred but vocational training is acceptable.
• In some cases ABS (American Bureau of Ship Building) certification is required which confirms their competency indifferent areas of pipe welding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Weld up prefabricated piping components using various welding procedures as outlined in blueprints or specifications.
• Chips off excess weld, slag and splatter using a power grinder, chipping gun or manual hammer.
