About The Position

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (following are accountabilities included but not limited to):

Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in welding, fabrication and assembly projects.
Welds piping spools in accordance with ASME B31.3, B31.8.
Operates a variety of hand and power tools.
Maintains a clean job site; pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Will bring problems to the attention of the Foreman/Shop Superintendent or HSSE Manager.
Other duties assigned to meet the needs of the business.

Requirements

• Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in fabrication and assembly of gas processing plants.
• Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
• Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
• Ability to use an overhead crane to accomplish work.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Ability to weld piping and assemble the following welding procedure specifications.
• Ability to pass ASME Section IX welding test using GMAW, SMAW and GTAW or any combination required.
• Ability to produce finished welds that meet the standards of the applicable Code of Construction and maintain a radiographic acceptance rate determined by Veritas Gas Processing to be acceptable for the piping system, job and environmental conditions.
• Possesses a willingness to provide in-situ instruction to assigned Helper.
• Any experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
