About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Certified Pipe Welder to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding pipes and piping systems in various industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols while working with various pipe materials and welding techniques.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of welding program from accredited trade school or equivalent experience
  • Valid welding certifications (AWS D1.1, ASME IX, or API 1104 preferred)
  • Current certification in applicable welding positions and processes

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 3-5 years of pipe welding experience
  • Experience with industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects
  • Proven track record of producing quality welds that pass inspection
  • Ability to weld in all positions
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and steady hands
  • Good physical stamina and ability to work in various positions
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
  • Additional certifications in specialized welding processes
  • Experience with exotic materials (Inconel, Hastelloy, etc.)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
  • Good vision and color perception
  • Ability to stand, kneel, and work in awkward positions for extended periods

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality welding on pipes of various materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy pipes
  • Weld pipes in all positions including horizontal, vertical, and overhead
  • Join pipe sections and install piping systems according to blueprints and specifications
  • Conduct visual inspections of welds to ensure quality standards are met
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas
  • Comply with company safety policies and OSHA regulations
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols
  • Calculate pipe dimensions, angles, and measurements
  • Prepare pipe surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and beveling as needed
  • Set up welding equipment and select appropriate welding rods/wire
  • Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment
