About The Position

The Pipe Fitter is responsible for the layout, assembly, installation, and maintenance of piping systems and supports in a manufacturing environment. This role requires precision, mechanical expertise, and the ability to work with a variety of materials, including metal and non-metal pipes. Pipe Fitters play a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient operations and high-quality project completion.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 5+ years of pipe fitting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Knowledge of pipe schedules, materials, and fitting techniques
  • Experience using hand and power tools related to pipe fitting
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Strong English communication skills, written and verbal
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Understanding of workplace safety standards and practices

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training or certification in pipe fitting
  • Experience with advanced pipe fitting techniques and automated equipment
  • MIG welding experience
  • Forklift and/or crane operation certification
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles

Responsibilities

  • Select appropriate pipe types, sizes, and related materials such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic components based on specifications
  • Cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment
  • Assemble and install metal and non-metal piping systems, including steel and stainless steel
  • Read and interpret blueprints, pipe and instrumentation drawings, and technical documents
  • Set up and operate MIG welding equipment as needed
  • Manage material inventory and coordinate with warehouse teams for timely replenishment
  • Support inventory audits and ensure accurate material tracking
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace following 5S standards
  • Adhere to OSHA safety standards and company safety policies, including proper PPE use
  • Conduct routine safety checks and report any hazards to supervisors
  • Participate in safety training and promote a safe work environment
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments
  • Perform other duties as assigned
