ARLINGTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS Arlington, MA 02476 High School Physics Teacher (0.6 FTE) Arlington High School is seeking a dynamic and student-centered High School Physics Teacher to join our Science Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Science Education, or related field
  • Appropriate state licensure (Physics or General Science 9–12)
  • Strong content knowledge in physics
  • Candidates for teaching positions must be appropriately licensed for the position.
  • Candidates must also be collaborative professionals who will work with general and special educators throughout the School and District.
  • Must be willing to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students in the classroom.
  • In addition, Arlington expects teachers to work diligently and collaboratively to implement the District's approved curriculum.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
  • Experience teaching AP Physics
  • Familiarity with inquiry-based and student-centered instructional practice

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, standards-aligned physics instruction using inquiry-based and phenomenon-driven approaches
  • Design and facilitate laboratory investigations and hands-on learning experiences
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction
  • Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum alignment and student success
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment
