Coordination of all operational activities of medical physics in the Department of Radiation Oncology. Provides the leadership necessary to maintain quality patient care services requiring progressive, technologically advanced procedures. Directs and supervises the department’s Quality Assurance Program to ensure that departmental equipment and procedures satisfy any requisite TJC, State, County or Federal Regulation (e.g. Title 17, Title 22, 10CFR20). To serve as the Radiation Safety Officer for the ComprehensiveCancer Center. To actively participate in the Medical Center Radiation Safety Committee, the Comprehensive CancerCenter quality assurance activities and Safety Committees. To plan for and assure appropriate resource allocation in collaboration with the Department Manager to include: New clinical programs. Equipment usage, selection, and replacement. Staff requirements, assignments, and recruitment. Annual budget preparation. To participate in the financial planning of the Department. To provide in-service education to the staff at appropriate times and intervals.
