We’re looking for a dedicated, patient-focused Physician Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team and provide comprehensive medical care to adult and geriatric populations. This role blends clinical excellence, leadership, and collaboration, offering the opportunity to shape patient care, support clinical teams, and contribute to quality initiatives. This is an hourly position covered by the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 bargaining unit (union). This position is located within our Heartland Behavioral Healthcare campus at 3000 Erie Street South, Massillon, OH 44646 . Requirements

  • Certificate to practice medicine issued by State Medical Board, pursuant to Section 4731.14 of Revised Code & certificate of registration issued by State Medical Board, pursuant to Section 4731.281 of Revised Code or limited registration with subsequent application for next available biennial medical state board examination (i.e., Federation Licensing Examination) to test for limited certificate per Section 4731.292 of Revised Code as it applies for foreign medical graduates.

  • Required Educational Transcripts Official transcripts are required for all post-secondary education, coursework, or degrees listed on the application. Responsibilities

  • Deliver Comprehensive Patient Care Conduct thorough physical examinations and medical histories for new and established patients Interpret and analyze diagnostic tests (including EKGs, imaging, and pathology results) to diagnose and manage medical conditions Make clinical rounds on assigned units and complete required annual patient evaluations Refer patients to specialists when appropriate to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
  • Serve as a Clinical Consultant Act as a consulting physician for multidisciplinary teams and clinical units Provide guidance and education to physicians, nurses, and clinical staff in specialized areas of medicine Exercise independent clinical judgment to develop and adjust treatment plans
  • Contribute to Quality & Leadership Initiatives Participate in committees and quality assurance activities Prepare and contribute to quality reports and departmental initiatives Collaborate with the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) to support departmental coordination and improvement efforts
