About The Position

Balance Health, a national leader in podiatry, is seeking a physician liaison to be responsible for building referral pipelines, event management, and public relations of our clinics. The physician liaison is the primary sales and marketing person responsible for building relationships between physicians' offices and our clinics to increase the number of patients referred to our facility for podiatric treatment and care. A physician liaison is the representative for doctors, medical practices, and bridges the communication gap between referring doctors and specialty physicians. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, time management, and project management skills along with the ability to self-direct and prioritize. A background in healthcare sales or referral management highly preferred. This role must be located in the San Francisco region with the ability to visit offices and attend events in the area.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in the field or related area.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians, payers, patients an the public and be capable of establishing good working relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • General medical knowledge, especially related to our facility's services, treatment offerings, and equipment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent Excel Skills including pivot charts
  • Ability to analyze EMR reporting
  • As this is a largely self-directed role, a successful candidate will need:
  • Reliable high-speed internet

  • Ability to focus when not in an office setting
  • Understanding of deadlines and time management
  • Self-starting mentality and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to function both independently and as part of a distributed team

Nice To Haves

  • Sales/outreach for multi-state healthcare experience a plus
  • Preference will be shown to candidates with podiatry experience

Responsibilities

  • Surveying local primary and specialty physicians to increase the number of patient referrals to the system.
  • Meeting with local physicians to promote our physician group’s services.
  • Helping doctors to build and maintain relationships with specialists and surgeons to refer patients with confidence.
  • Growing physician referrals and connecting our facility with the local healthcare community.
  • Meeting with referring doctors to discuss patient care, referrals, new treatments, and thanking them for existing referrals.
  • Increasing high revenue procedures and surgeries.
  • Reporting to the business development manager and ensuring you comply with the marketing goals and philosophies of our facility.
  • Reporting on your progress in building referrals and managing practitioner relationships.
  • Arranging and leading public relations campaigns and awareness efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned
