About The Position

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking Internal Medicine physicians. The clinic is one of the nation’s leading health care organizations with over 40 locations throughout Houston, nationally recognized for delivering coordinated and accountable care. As a multi-specialty clinic, it offers care from more than 900 medical providers in 65 medical specialties. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to higher quality, higher patient satisfaction, and lower total costs. Internal Medicine physicians at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic examine adult patients 18 years and older to ensure proper care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery of various medical conditions. They have full access to sub-specialists, imaging, lab services, and patient education within the Kelsey-Seybold system. The organization uses EPIC electronic health record for patient care, facilitating collaboration. Physicians will see patients in the office from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, supported by nursing and administrative staff. Periodic hospital call is required, admitting only Kelsey-Seybold patients, with no overnight stay typically required as some call groups have nocturnists managing admissions.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved training program in the United States
Licensed in the State of Texas
Board Certified or Board Eligible

Responsibilities

Examine adult patients 18 years and older to ensure proper care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery of various medical conditions
Order medically necessary tests
Perform follow-up visits
Place referrals to specialists when needed
Interpret basic medical tests and imaging in planning care for patients
Take periodic hospital call admitting only Kelsey-Seybold patients
