Riverside Medical Group is seeking a full-time physician to join our pioneering Psychiatric Emergency Department (PED) team at the Riverside Mental Health & Recovery Center in Hampton, Virginia 🌟 Who We’re Looking For: We welcome Emergency Medicine Physicians , Family Medicine Physicians , and Psychiatrists who: Thrive in high-acuity, fast-paced environments Are passionate about mental health and substance use recovery Value team-based care and clinical excellence Are committed to patient advocacy and community impact 🩺 Your Role Includes: Providing acute psychiatric and substance abuse services for adolescents (12–17) and adults Leading crisis intervention and short-term stabilization care Conducting psychiatric evaluations , comprehensive assessments , and medication management Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, and peer recovery specialists Supporting a full continuum of care: Intensive Treatment Program (ITP) Adult Psychiatric Services (APSY) Inpatient Detoxification Dual Diagnosis Services Individual, Family & Group Therapy Recreation & Art Therapy Life Skills Groups Substance Abuse Interventions 🧩 Essential Functions: Provide professional guidance to APPs and students in the Emergency Department Perform authorized emergency procedures (30% of time) Deliver direct patient care as an Emergency Medicine Physician (60% of time) Participate in leadership, mentorship, and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • Virginia Medical License (or eligibility)
  • Valid DEA controlled substance registration
  • Must meet comprehensive and professional standards

Responsibilities

  • Providing acute psychiatric and substance abuse services for adolescents (12–17) and adults
  • Leading crisis intervention and short-term stabilization care
