Psychiatric Emergency Department Physician Riverside Medical Group is currently seeking a full-time physician to join our Psychiatric Emergency Department team at Riverside Mental Health and Recovery Center in Hampton, Virginia. Location: Riverside Mental Health and Recovery Center – Hampton, Virginia Job ID: 2024-023277 Time Type: Full Time Our Emergency Department team delivers lifesaving care 24/7, 365 days a year, across five emergency rooms in southeastern Virginia. This includes the region's only accredited Emergency and Trauma Center at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News. Riverside Mental Health and Recovery Center boast the first Psychiatric Emergency Department in Virginia , an innovative model recognized across the Commonwealth and by the Governor. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will support our commitment to providing the right care at the right time to enhance patient well-being and improve health outcomes. We are seeking a psychiatrist who embodies these values and can provide a comprehensive array of services, including but not limited to: Patient care as part of a collaborative healthcare team Assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning Consultation with interdisciplinary team members Patient and family education Leadership in clinical and organizational care Comprehensive history and physical assessments Diagnostic testing and interpretation Development and evaluation of treatment plans Pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions Specialty referrals and consultations Emergency responsiveness and life-saving interventions Age-specific care planning and communication Advocacy for patients and families Confidentiality and respect for all individuals Mentorship and empowerment within the healthcare community Evidence-based practice and quality improvement Compliance with regulatory documentation Scope of Services You will focus on hospital-based psychiatric and substance abuse services for adolescents and adults, helping patients manage behavioral health issues. Services include: Crisis intervention Intensive Treatment Program (ITP) Adult Psychiatric Services (APSY) Inpatient detoxification Dual diagnosis care Psychiatric evaluation and comprehensive assessments 24-hour nursing care Individual, family, and group therapy Recreation and art therapy Life skills groups Medication management Substance abuse groups Safe, therapeutic surroundings

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Licensed Medical Doctor in the State of Virginia
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • Valid DEA controlled substance registration
  • Meet comprehensive professional standards
  • Hold or be eligible for a Virginia medical license
  • Demonstrate commitment to quality, safety, and compassionate care
