About The Position

The Physician Compensation Analyst provides compensation support and analysis for the Director of Physician Compensation, Manager of Physician Compensation, Medical Group, market, service line, and other leaders, Provider recruiting and the Office of physician and APP professional affairs. The position will collaborate with others as needed to deliver Market Survey Analysis and work with Compensation Market Data. This includes participating in salary surveys, analyzing survey data, and coordinating survey results within the database, ensuring data integrity and best coverage for the diverse provider population. The analyst compiles and analyzes survey data, acts as an internal staff consultant on provider survey data, and researches and provides market data as requested. The role involves performing ad-hoc data analysis and modeling, extracting and compiling data from multiple sources, and modeling projections for new compensation structures to determine financial and individual impacts. The analyst formats and creates dynamic analysis for customers. A key part of the role is performing Fair Market Value (FMV) analysis of physician compensation and ensuring compliance with federal Stark, Anti-Kickback, and other relevant laws and regulations. This includes performing compensation tests, preparing information for annual review, and providing analytical support to the Office of Physician and APP professional affairs. The position is responsible for Physician contract review for compensation compliance, working with operations and contracting to ensure appropriate compensation and clear language. The analyst supports the provider payroll team, acts as a resource for questions on standard compensation models, reviews calculations and spreadsheets, and prepares payroll system uploads. They help develop Compensation guidelines, perform rate structure maintenance, and participate in the review and update process for these guidelines. The analyst participates in and may lead the Annual Rate Update and Financial Plan, utilizing market data for annual review of physician compensation rates, forecasting compensation inflation, and preparing annual rate update proposals. The role also involves performing compensation audits as needed and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Special projects are initiated and performed using analytical skills and compensation expertise to assist in the development, installation, and administration of compensation programs.

Requirements

  • Experience in payroll analyst with medical group experience, or has worked as a financial analyst supporting a medical group

Responsibilities

  • Provide compensation support and analysis for the Director of Physician Compensation, Manager of Physician Compensation, Medical Group, market, service line, and other leaders, Provider recruiting and the Office of physician and APP professional affairs.
  • Collaborate with others as needed to deliver Market Survey Analysis and work with Compensation Market Data.
  • Participate in approximately 8 salary surveys and analyze survey data.
  • Participate in third-party salary surveys to collect and analyze information on the organization's competitive position.
  • Coordinate survey results within the database, including performing all necessary weighting and aging of the data, ensuring data integrity and best coverage of survey sources for our diverse provider population.
  • Compile and analyze survey data.
  • Act as internal staff consultant to others on provider survey data.
  • Research, analyze and provide market data on positions as requested by management.
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis and modeling.
  • Extract and compile data from multiple sources.
  • Model projections for new compensation structure and determine financial and individual impacts of new compensation structures.
  • Format analysis to facilitate ease of use for customers and create dynamic analysis to react to ever changing needs.
  • Perform Fair Market Value (FMV) analysis of physician compensation.
  • Understand and help ensure Internmountain's compliance to federal Stark, Anti-Kickback, and other laws and regulations that deal with physician compensation.
  • Perform tests on compensation using established benchmarks.
  • Prepare information and participate in annual review process for physician compensation compliance.
  • Provide analytical support to the Office of Physician and APP professional affairs.
  • Responsible for Physician contract review for compensation compliance.
  • Work with Market and Service Line operations to ensure appropriate compensation is included in contracts.
  • Work with Physician Contracting to help formulate clear compensation language.
  • Provide support to provider payroll team and act as a resource to physician and APP payroll teams for questions on standard compensation models.
  • Review various calculations and spreadsheets for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare various payroll system uploads.
  • Help develop Compensation guidelines and perform rate structure maintenance to ensure standard compensation rate sheets are updated with the most current information.
  • Participate in review and update process for compensation guidelines.
  • Participate and may lead the Annual Rate Update and Financial Plan.
  • Utilize market data to assist with the annual review of physician compensation rates.
  • Forecast compensation inflation for use in Medical Group financial planning.
  • Help prepare the annual rate update proposal.
  • Perform audits on compensation on an as-needed basis.
  • Ensure compensation compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Initiate and perform special projects as needed using analytical skills and compensation expertise to assist in the development, installation and administration of compensation programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Finance Director - Physician Compensation and/or Physician Compensation Manager.
