About The Position
Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital (WBUH) is seeking a highly motivated Emergency Medicine physician to join its dynamic Department of Emergency Medicine as a Clinical Faculty Nocturnist. This position is designed for physicians who are interested in strictly working overnight shifts while contributing to a thriving academic emergency department. It offers an exciting opportunity for an emergency physician passionate about delivering exceptional patient care with opportunities to advance medical education within a collaborative and high-acuity clinical environment. As a clinical faculty member, the physician will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality care in one of Michigan’s busiest emergency departments, working alongside a dedicated team of emergency medicine physicians, advanced practice providers, residents, fellows, and medical students. The role involves fostering a culture of clinical excellence, teamwork, and academic inquiry. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the physician will actively participate in departmental quality and safety initiatives and contribute to the education and mentorship of residents, fellows, and medical students through bedside teaching. Faculty in this role will hold an academic appointment with the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. The position focuses primarily on overnight coverage with a long-term commitment to night shifts, providing care in both adult and pediatric emergency centers. WBUH has been a leader in emergency medicine for over 30 years, consistently ranked among top hospitals, and serves as a premier academic medical center and the primary teaching facility for Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. Its Emergency Department is a Level 1 Trauma Center with an annual patient volume exceeding 125,000 visits, and its Pediatric Emergency Center is a Level 2 Trauma Center caring for over 25,000 children each year. Requirements
- MD or DO degree
- Board certification (or board eligibility) by the American Board of Emergency Medicine
- Strong experience in adult and pediatric emergency care
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- A strong ability to thrive in a team-oriented, multidisciplinary environment while contributing to both the academic and clinical missions of the department
- Interest in strictly working overnight shifts
- Long-term commitment to night shifts
- Thrive in a high-acuity, high-volume, team-oriented environment
- Value the critical role that night physicians play in emergency department operations
- Comply with the MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza vaccine requirement if in an on-site or hybrid workplace category
