About The Position

Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital (WBUH) is seeking a highly motivated Emergency Medicine physician to join their dynamic Department of Emergency Medicine as a Clinical Faculty Nocturnist. This position is designed for physicians who are interested in strictly working overnight shifts while contributing to a thriving academic emergency department. This is an exciting opportunity for an emergency physician passionate about delivering exceptional patient care with opportunities to advance medical education within a collaborative and high-acuity clinical environment. As a clinical faculty member, the physician will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality care in one of Michigan’s busiest emergency departments, working alongside a dedicated team of emergency medicine physicians, advanced practice providers, residents, fellows, and medical students. The role involves active participation in departmental quality and safety initiatives and contributing to the education and mentorship of residents, fellows, and medical students through bedside teaching. Faculty in this role will hold an academic appointment with the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, supporting the shared academic mission of both institutions. The position specifically seeks candidates interested in a dedicated nocturnist team, with a schedule focused primarily on overnight coverage and a long-term commitment to night shifts. Clinical responsibilities include providing care in both adult and pediatric emergency centers. This role is ideal for physicians who enjoy the unique pace, autonomy, and clinical focus of overnight emergency care and who thrive in a high-acuity, high-volume, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree with board certification (or board eligibility) by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
  • Strong experience in adult and pediatric emergency care.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A strong ability to thrive in a team-oriented, multidisciplinary environment while contributing to both the academic and clinical missions of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care in one of Michigan’s busiest emergency departments.
  • Work alongside a dedicated team of emergency medicine physicians, advanced practice providers, residents, fellows, and medical students.
  • Actively participate in departmental quality and safety initiatives.
