Ascension St. Vincent's is looking for a BC/BE General or Non-Invasive Cardiologist for their Riverside - Cardiology Program in Jacksonville, FL. This is a great opportunity to partner with Ascension St. Vincent's to provide medical services to patients. The practice includes 35 board certified cardiologists practicing among 6 office locations with additional outreach clinics. Services are inclusive of interventional cardiology, peripheral, vascular, and electrophysiology. It features the highest volume structural heart program in the region, including TAVR, TMVR, Watchman, and Mitraclip, and is a leader in cardiovascular innovation and extensive research. It also has the largest EP practice in the region with the highest atrial fibrillation ablation volume. The job location is currently in a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) and/or Medically Underserved Area/Population (MUA/P) Shortage Designation Type. Ascension St. Vincent’s Medical Center Riverside is a 528-bed hospital, part of St. Vincent’s HealthCare and Ascension, and home to the largest cardiovascular program between Atlanta and Orlando. Other facilities include Ascension St. Vincent’s Southside (311-bed), Ascension St. Vincent’s Medical Center Clay County (134-bed), and Ascension St. Vincent's St. John's (56-bed).

Requirements

  • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Florida Board of Medicine obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
  • BC/BE General or Non-Invasive Cardiologist.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
  • Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
  • Accepts patient referrals from other physicians.
  • Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
  • Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
  • Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
  • Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.
