Ascension St. Vincent's is seeking a General/Noninvasive Cardiologist for their Clay clinic location in Middleburg (Jacksonville), FL. This role offers an opportunity to partner with Ascension St. Vincent's to provide medical services to patients. The practice includes 35 BC Cardiologists across 6 office locations with additional outreach clinics, offering services in interventional cardiology, peripheral, vascular, and electrophysiology. It boasts the highest volume structural heart program in the region, including TAVR, TMVR, Watchman, and Mitraclip, and is a leader in cardiovascular innovation and extensive research. It also has the largest EP practice in the region with the highest atrial fibrillation ablation volume. The position involves a Monday - Friday schedule with some weekends and a night call rotation. The EMR systems used are Athena and Cerner. The facility is Ascension St. Vincent's Clay. Jacksonville, FL, is a rapidly growing metropolitan area with a mild climate, reasonable cost of living, professional sports teams, an international airport, and a solid growing economy. Florida has no state income tax.

Requirements

  • General/Noninvasive Cardiologist, BE/BC
  • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Florida Board of Medicine obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
  • Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
  • Accepts patient referrals from other physicians.
  • Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
  • Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
  • Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
  • Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.
