Texas Orthopaedic Associates utilizes Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners in accordance with the rules and regulations set forth by the State of Texas. Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories. Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies; interpreting test results. Assist Physician team in making clinic and surgery experience flow more smoothly and ensuring the patient has the best patient experience. The essential duties of the position include providing excellent customer service, contributing to a positive work atmosphere, relaying relevant information, greeting and escorting patients, maintaining patient flow, assisting patients with various needs, working as an extender for Physicians in clinic and surgery, obtaining history and performing physical examinations, ordering diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, formulating diagnoses, making hospital rounds if applicable, developing and implementing treatment plans, monitoring therapeutic interventions, assisting in surgery, counseling and educating patients, removing/applying casts/splints, drawing injections, reporting abnormal observations, assisting with documentation, participating in meetings, maintaining a neat work area, and complying with HIPAA procedures.
