About The Position

Coastal Orthopedics is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to support our Shoulder & Elbow specialty team. In this role, you’ll work closely with physicians in both clinic and surgical settings, helping guide patients through their full care journey—from evaluation to recovery.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Active Florida PA license (required)
• Minimum 1 year of Physician Assistant experience (orthopedics preferred)
• Current BLS/CPR certification

Nice To Haves

• Experience in orthopedic, hospital, or outpatient settings preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform patient evaluations, including histories and physical exams (new, established, pre-op, post-op)
• Order and interpret X-rays, labs, and diagnostic tests
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with physicians
• Assist in surgery as First Assist, including wound closure and case preparation
• Manage pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient education
• Conduct inpatient rounds, consults, and discharges
• Prescribe medications in accordance with state and federal guidelines
• Monitor post-op recovery, including wound care, DME, and PT coordination
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
• Participate in call rotation (1–2 weeks per month)
