The Department of Medicine at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist houses the largest medical department as well as its own medical residency program. PAs will work alongside Cornell faculty caring for geriatrics, digestive diseases, rehabilitation, vascular, neurology and oncology patients, many from around the world. Admissions in the Department of Internal Medicine alone exceed 20,000 patients per year, generating a wide spectrum of patients and pathology. This is an exciting opportunity to experience a wide variety of cases, ranging from adult inpatients requiring pre and post-operative care to general acute care and specialty services. Our case mix index is one of the highest, yet our measured outcomes are among the best in the nation. Hospitalist PA - Internal Medicine | Full-Time, Nights The Hospitalist PA will help cover a new but expanding PA-led hospitalist medicine service covering patients on the medicine unit which has a total of 37 beds. The Night PA Hospitalist will respond to and help to manage stroke codes with the support of the stroke attending on call. They will perform admission H&Ps for patients admitted to the unit. They will serve as the front-line provider with clinical support from hospitalist physicians. The Night Hospitalist PA will help cover a new but growing PA-led hospitalist medicine service line covering patients on the inpatient rehab unit, med-psych unit, and non-teaching hospitalist service. Night Hospitalist PAs will also perform admission H&Ps for those units and serve as the front-line provider with clinical support from hospitalist physicians. This position will work three 12.5 hour rotating night shifts per week. Rotating weekend and holiday coverage required. New graduates welcome to apply.
