Orthopedic Residency position in collaboration with MUSC College of Health Professions Physical Therapy department residency program. An outpatient physical therapist with associated university degree and current, valid SC PT license, to help patients regain mobility, manage pain, and improve their overall quality of life. Requirements

  • An outpatient physical therapist with associated university degree and current, valid SC PT license
  • Qualifications outlined per residency program guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Consulting with patients to understand their physical condition, symptoms, and medical history.
  • Assessing and interpreting patient evaluations and test results.
  • Developing personalized treatment plans using a variety of treatment techniques
  • Creating individualized rehab programs for patients.
  • Utilizing various treatment methods, such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities (e.g., heat, cold, ultrasound).
  • Educating and Coaching patients on therapeutic exercises and stretches to improve their condition
  • Manual therapy, joint mobilizations, soft tissue mobilization, etc.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records, tracking goals and progress.
  • Documenting adaptations to treatment plans based on patient response and changing needs.
  • Advising patients and their families on in-home treatment options and recovery expectations and appropriately documenting education.
