About The Position

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Physical Therapist to join their outpatient therapy services team in Deptford, New Jersey. This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. The Physical Therapist will provide evaluations, interventions, and patient/family education, maintain documentation, and communicate with medical and clinical staff. They will also participate in departmental education activities to expand knowledge of patient populations and evidence-based practice. Requirements

  • Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy or its equivalent from a CAPTE accredited university required
  • Minimum of three (3) to six (6) months experience required (new graduates will be considered based on educational experiences)
  • State of New Jersey Physical Therapist License or provisional/temporary license required upon hire
  • All clinical staff are required to hold a second license, in DE (must submit license or proof of application submission within 2 weeks of job acceptance, but this second license is not required to be active at the start of employment)
  • Compact licensure is acceptable for primary and secondary licensure when the practitioner is eligible and maintains an active home-state license in a Compact state
  • Pennsylvania clearances are required upon hire for those with a Pennsylvania license
  • American Heart Association BLS certification required within 6 months of date of hire and must be maintained for duration of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Member of professional specialty organizations (APTA, state PT association) preferred
  • Pediatric experience is preferred
  • Pelvic Floor experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides physical therapy evaluations, interventions and patient/family education
  • Establish and maintain appropriate documentation and communication with medical and clinical staff and outside agencies within the guidelines designated by state licensure, the department and Delaware Valley policies and procedures
  • Actively participates in departmental education activities in order to expand knowledge of patient populations and evidence-based practice
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the care of all ages: pediatrics and adolescents
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the care of neonates as required by assignment
  • Able to provide physical therapy services to a variety of patient types with recognition of his/her own limitations while seeking appropriate mentorship as needed
  • Completes timely documentation as required by departmental policy #7980.3.3, Joint Commission, and CARF standards
  • Attends meetings related to patient treatment and contributes to discussion as an interdisciplinary team member
  • Consults with other services, families, and outside agencies to recommend durable medical equipment, home/school modifications and transitional therapy program prior to discharge from therapy
  • Maintains knowledge of and familiarity with insurance referral/authorization process and documentation requirements related to therapy services
  • Completes all mandatory training; may include, but not limited to safety, infection control, corporate compliance, HIPAA, bioterrorism, CPR and program specific respiratory training
  • When required by assignment, participates in weekend/holiday inpatient coverage rotation
