The Manager, Physical Security, serves as the organization's strategic leader for physical and food security programs across all HMF locations. This role oversees enterprise-level security operations, traffic management, vendor partnerships, and food defense initiatives. The Senior Manager provides expert guidance on risk management, system design, and strategic planning for Access Control Systems, CCTV (IP Camera) and other Systems. This position partners closely with leadership, IT, Food Safety, EHS, Maintenance, and Operations teams to ensure an integrated and resilient security culture. The Senior Manager chairs the HMF Security Committee and Infrastructure Team, driving proactive strategies to protect people, assets, and critical operations.

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the organization's enterprise-wide strategy for Physical Security and Food Defense, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and regulatory obligations.
  • Policy and Program Governance: Establish, update, and maintain comprehensive security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, GFSI).
  • Risk Management: Direct risk and vulnerability assessments across facilities and food systems; design and oversee mitigation strategies and incident prevention programs.
  • Technology Oversight: Provide leadership for access control systems, video surveillance, and related technologies, ensuring reliability and integration with facility operations.
  • Food Defense and Compliance: Oversee food security programs to prevent contamination or intentional adulteration, ensuring continuous audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Vendor and Contractor Management: Lead relationships with third-party security vendors, integrators, and consultants. Ensure optimal performance, service-level adherence, and cost management.
  • Incident Response and Investigations: Direct investigations and response efforts for incidents involving theft, tampering, or intrusion. Coordinate with law enforcement and external agencies as needed.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with senior leaders to align security initiatives across sites and departments. Serve as the senior escalation point for physical and food security matters.
  • Committee Leadership: Chair the Security Committee and Infrastructure Team, providing strategic recommendations to senior leadership on emerging risks and capital investments.
  • Performance Monitoring: Develop and present dashboards and reports on key security metrics, incident trends, vulnerabilities, and program effectiveness to executive management.
  • Training and Awareness: Oversee enterprise training programs on physical security and food defense. Build a culture of accountability and vigilance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current on emerging technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory changes to proactively enhance organizational resilience.
  • Emergency Management: Ensure the organization's emergency response and crisis management plans are current, effective, and tested through drills and exercises.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Engineering, Security Management, Criminal Justice, Food Safety, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 6 - 8 years of progressive experience in physical security leadership, with responsibility for multidisciplinary teams and multi-site operations.
  • Proven success in strategic planning, budgeting, and large-scale security program management.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
  • In-depth understanding of physical security systems, risk management methodologies, and compliance frameworks.
  • High ethical standards, analytical capability, and sound judgment.
  • Must have good vision and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer or in the field.
  • The office environment noise level is typically moderate.
  • Travel to local and regional HMF sites required (up to 25%).
  • Professional certifications such as CPP, PSP, CFSQA, or other relevant credentials preferred (ASIS, HACCP, or equivalent).
