About The Position

The Project Manager is the overall manager for assigned project. The Project Manager ensures that all contracted work is developed, implemented, installed and managed in accordance with the Heartland’s requirements, including but not limited to, safety, quality, management, and financial performance requirements. All aspects of the assigned project(s) must be carried out as efficiently as possible with respect to staffing, materials management, financial management, customer care and customer delivery goals.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in the Physical Security Industry
  • Expert knowledge of the construction industry and processes
  • At least 3 years of supervising construction crews
  • At least 3 years of project management; project planning, time management, risk management, and managing relationships with key stakeholders
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bicsi Technician Level certification
  • CAPM Certification
  • Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proficient in Project Management software
  • Able to excel in a high-pressure environment
  • Communicate effectively with internal team members and clients
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Well-organized and willing to take initiative

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding and implementation of the OSI model
  • 5-7 years of Construction Project Management Experience
  • 5-7 years of supervising multiple construction crews
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent certification
  • Bicsi RRPM (Registered Telecommunications Project Manager)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a combination of technical engineering, design/estimation skills in addition to capabilities associated with executing project management skillsets needed to investigate, quote and deliver a project from start to finish.
  • Supervise and assist with the design, installation, maintenance, documentation and close out of physical security projects.
  • Perform surveys, price new projects, attend meetings and propose solutions to installation issues.
  • Coordinate with other trades as needed on the job-site.
  • Maintain job-site folders with all documentation including material list, scope of work, as-built drawings.
  • Manage manpower and track hours accordingly. Hold teams accountable towards project completion on-time, on-budget
  • Providing technical assistance, i.e. interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methodology, equipment/hardware needs and project documentation as required.
  • Responsible for tracking and implementing change orders.
  • Manage installation, sub-contracted resources and overall quality of work
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel while having oversight of those responsibilities.
  • Be proactive towards positive feedback and/or remediation of issues for those under his/her direct supervision.
  • Responsible for quality of work. Work with your direct supervisor and workforce towards developing a standard practice of how cabling projects are implemented. The expectation is for all physical security projects to be completed to standards and instilling “The Heartland Way” of doing things.
  • Define and develop project scope, goals, expectations and deliverables.
  • Input with scheduling to get the best resources on any given project.
  • Be actively involved with projects under your supervision. Visit jobsites frequently to “be in the trenches” with your teams. Help with installations when needed.

  • Minimum of 1,450 hours billed per fiscal year prorated based on start date. These charge hour requirements will be balanced against professional development and on the job training.
