About The Position

The Physical Security Intelligence Operations Analyst(s) will provide a critical support function as a member of the Joint Security Operations Center (JSOC) team in ensuring the safety and security of Synchrony personnel and assets. Analysts will work closely with members of the Crisis Management, Security Investigations, Security Intelligence, Executive Protection, Facilities, Human Resource and Fraud Teams. This is a Hybrid Role, which will require spending 2-3 days per week onsite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or in lieu of degree; 4+ years of security experience in government, law enforcement agency or corporate security organization.
  • Security experience in government, law enforcement agency, corporate security organization or related field
  • Ability to research, investigate, compile information, assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc.)
  • Comfortable with a high-tech work environment, constant learning of new tools and innovations.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team
  • Verbal communication, presentation and report writing skills
  • May require flexibility to work different shifts which might include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary.
  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.
  • All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).

Responsibilities

  • Collect and research intelligence from a wide range of sources, including open-source intelligence (OSINT), social media, internal databases, dark web monitoring, proprietary fraud platforms, law enforcement reports, and vendor threat feeds.
  • Utilize multiple data sources (e.g., Fraud query-based tools, Neo4j, Lexis, Aperio) to acquire data and reports for analysis and investigative leads
  • Serves as the main point of contact for the intake and escalation of all physical security and crisis management issues.
  • Support threat intelligence collection and triage internal systems to detect fraud.
  • Provide enhanced security monitoring, analyze collected data, audit findings and security procedures, and provide briefings to Synchrony’s security management team for appropriate response.
  • Responsible for monitoring a variety of crisis, threat intelligence and fraud detection tools to assess impacts to the business and disseminate information rapidly to our leaders for further action and response.
  • Provide effective and efficient processing of all information relevant to the security operations business.
  • Responsible for tracking and logging all security events in our security incident management system.
  • Generate and provide access control reports to different departments throughout Synchrony for auditing and investigations.
  • Monitor and manage the physical security request management system.
  • Responsible for monitoring all Synchrony Data Center physical security operations.
  • Provide physical security support for Investigative teams, Crisis Management events, Intelligence team taskings related to threats against Synchrony assets and personnel.
  • Provide leverage to Human Resource in regards to investigations
  • Coordinate guard response to events as necessary through the contract guard manager.
  • Coordinate maintenance repair requests on security technology.
  • Prepare and disseminate metric reports on physical security and crisis management data.
  • Conduct quality assurance and review of security technology and procedures.
  • Conduct audits on access control operator actions that consists of cardholder access, technology controls, alarm activity and acknowledgements
  • Monitor media and weather-related events for incidents potentially impacting Synchrony and act as point of contact for crisis management and security related incidents and activate teams as appropriate.
  • Documentation and maintenance of JSOC and guard procedures
  • Provide remote oversight of the employees travel to ensure the safety and protection of Synchrony personnel.
  • Obtain weekly travel information for Synchrony leadership personnel to help support Security Crisis Management on executive protection.
  • Maintain and publish Security Crisis Management related content on an internal companywide webpage to educate and provide Synchrony employees with helpful tips, security awareness, and travel security.
  • Conduct investigative research related to fraud, targeted threats, insider risk, and other physical security concerns; gather relevant information supporting senior analyst investigations.
  • Perform preliminary data analysis to identify patterns, emerging risks, indicator correlations, and anomalies associated with physical security and fraud threats.
  • Assist in compiling and drafting intelligence reports, threat briefings, and risk assessments.
  • Support fraud special investigations and executive protection teams by providing context and background intelligence related to potential or identified threat actors.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Fraud Investigations, Executive Protection, Physical Security Leadership, and the JSOC.
  • Maintain accurate records of intelligence activities, research findings, and case documentation in designated systems.
  • Contribute to refining intelligence processes and tools by recommending enhancements based on analytic needs and research outcomes.
  • Stay current on relevant threat landscapes, industry trends, and investigative methodologies to enhance team capability.
  • Contribute ideas toward improving day-to-day business practices related to the JSOC.
  • Other duties as assigned.
