Photographer/ Photo Re-toucher - Part Time Contractor
About The Position
This is a part-time contractor position for a Photographer/Photo Re-toucher, requiring 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling. The role involves executing high-resolution studio shots of products, including tabletop, macro, and "hero" images. It also entails capturing products "in the wild" through lifestyle photography, which includes scouting local outdoor locations, managing natural light, and directing talent. The individual will be responsible for utilizing in-house lighting equipment to maintain consistent brand aesthetics and performing post-production tasks such as basic retouching, color correction, and cropping. Finally, the role requires organizing and uploading final assets to a digital asset management system according to established naming conventions.
Requirements
- A strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in both controlled studio product photography and dynamic outdoor lifestyle photography
- Expert knowledge of DSLR/Mirrorless camera systems, manual settings, and various focal lengths
- Experience working with strobe or continuous studio lighting
- Skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically Lightroom and Photoshop)
- Ability to manage your 20-hour week efficiently, meeting deadlines with minimal supervision
- Ownership of a professional-grade DSLR or Mirrorless camera body and a versatile set of lenses (e.g., 35mm, 50mm, or 85mm primes and a macro lens)
Responsibilities
- Execute high-resolution studio shots of our product line, including tabletop photography, macro shots, and "hero" images (Product Photography - Indoor)
- Capture our products "in the wild" by scouting local outdoor locations, managing natural light, and directing talent (when applicable) to create authentic, aspirational content (Lifestyle Photography - Outdoor)
- Utilize our limited in-house lighting equipment to create consistent, brand-aligned aesthetics (Lighting & Composition)
- Perform basic retouching, color correction, and cropping to ensure all assets are ready and meet brand standards (Post-Production)
- Organize and upload final files to our digital asset management system according to established naming conventions (Asset Management)
