About The Position

Come work in our Hospital Phlebotomy Department. Life Laboratories is a full-service medical diagnostic laboratory serving patients throughout Western Massachusetts. Come and be part of our specialized team! You would be responsible for providing skilled inpatient phlebotomy care within Mercy Medical Center. Your work is vital to the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients. - Working with a great team of professionals putting patients at the center of everything we do
Requirements
- High school or GED.
- Nat'l Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
- Technical training in Phlebotomy Program, 1 year of experience, preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills; strong phlebotomy skills.
- Adaptability and flexibility necessary for work schedule and patient care requirements.
- Good command of the English language and medical terminology.
Responsibilities
- Receives assignments, obtains required supplies, completes work on time.
- Completes Stat requests within standard turnaround times.
- Responses promptly to beeper and/or overhead paging.
- Verifies that the appropriate specimen has been obtained / received for the test requested.
- Maintains integrity of the specimen.
