About The Position

Anoka-Ramsey Community College is seeking one (1) unlimited, full-time Philosophy faculty member. The primary responsibilities include teaching a variety of Philosophy courses and potentially some Humanities courses. The position will include online and in-person instructional responsibilities. Participation and leadership in discipline, division, campus, and college matters through service on committees is expected. Continual professional development is expected. The Philosophy/Humanities department values collegiality and collaboration as part of its commitment to teaching and learning and seeks candidates with strong interpersonal skills. The primary teaching responsibilities for these positions will be at the Cambridge campus with some teaching at the Rapids Campus.

Requirements

  • Master's degree with a major in philosophy or Master's degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in philosophy.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in the discipline of Philosophy
  • Experience teaching a variety of philosophy classes both seated and online. In particular, experience teaching Introduction to Philosophy, Introduction to Ethics, Medical Ethics, Logic is desired.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching (example: course survey results, teaching awards) and/or strong interest in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL examples include: attending teaching workshops, seminars, or conferences; reading or publishing in this area).
  • Experience addressing current issues related to education such as AI, especially in an online learning environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching a culturally and racially diverse philosophy curriculum
  • Experience with or commitment and knowledge of strategies for addressing equity gaps
