About The Position

Ivy Tech Community College - Terre Haute Campus is recruiting for Adjunct Faculty (Part Time) to teach Philosophy in a face-to-face manner during the day. These classes will be in person and could be located at the main campus (8000 South Education Driver, Terre Haute, Indiana); Greencastle Site located in Greencastle, Indiana; or on the Indiana State University Campus, located in Terre Haute, Indiana. The chosen candidate must be available to come to the campus to teach. Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School. Philosophy Discipline Standard: A qualified faculty member in philosophy meets the discipline standard through one of two routes: Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in philosophy; or Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in any field with 18 graduate semester hours in philosophy -related courses (e.g., ethics courses, logic, values, aesthetics, moral philosophy, moral problems, philosophical writings, history of philosophy). Requirements

  • Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in philosophy; or
  • Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in any field with 18 graduate semester hours in philosophy -related courses (e.g., ethics courses, logic, values, aesthetics, moral philosophy, moral problems, philosophical writings, history of philosophy).
