Job Description: This position works collaboratively to build and grow philanthropy with the end goal of building an internal culture of philanthropy as well as developing a major gifts pipeline. In collaboration with colleagues across UofL Health, UofL School of Medicine, and UofL Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement, this position is responsible for strategic rollout and implementation of all programs, trainings, communication, and events focused on the program. All job functions must be performed with a high degree of professionalism, including responsibility, initiative, creativity, dependability, human relations, cooperation, courtesy, and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, presentation/public speaking skills, organizational skills, and be mission driven.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in a health-related field
  • Five years of related experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationship with internal leadership of UofL Health as it related to the program.
  • Train cohorts of clinicians and other key staff to identify potential patient cues and next steps including the referral process.
  • Oversee the continued development and rollout of the program– in coordination with the UofL Health development team.
  • Build relationships with doctors, staff, and patients to collect stories for the program and impact reports.
  • Foster clinician champions in an effort toward furthering philanthropy.
  • Create and oversee an advisory board of the program, made up of patients and clinician champions to provide meaningful engagement opportunities and to build a culture of philanthropy at UofL Health.
  • In collaboration with UofL Health Philanthropy team, increase volunteer engagement for our annual day of giving.
  • Create a comprehensive program that includes multiple avenues for engagement, including volunteer opportunities, board participation, patient advocacy (in clinical research) and storytelling.
  • Identity leads who are major gift prospects and connect them with the respective philanthropy colleague.
  • Meet or exceed annual goals as defined each year by supervisor.
  • Build and manage a portfolio of approximately 50 clinicians.
  • Collaborate with event coordinator on planning of events related to the program.
