The Arizona Humane Society is looking for a full time Philanthropy Officer to work at our South Mountain Campus Monday – Friday. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree or CFRE certification a plus, AND a minimum of 5 years of experience on a non-profit development team; OR any equivalent combination of sales experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Proficiency infundraising database software required as well as proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook; able to learn other software programs as necessary.
  • Able to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Valid AZ Driver's License and Insurance.
  • Proven success identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual gifts at the four- and five-figure level.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with experience engaging internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of donor cultivation and solicitation strategies and best practices.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and collaborative, able to work both independently and cross-functionally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a flexible, solutions-oriented "can-do" attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 200 donors and prospects, securing gifts ranging from $2,500 to $25,000 while identifying new supporters and growing engagement in the President's Club annual giving society.
  • Through personalized outreach, strategic gift planning, and participation in cultivation events, you'll connect donors directly to programs and initiatives that align with their passions and our bold future vision.
  • Lead the Circle of Friends spay/neuter annual fundraising campaign developing strategy, crafting compelling messaging, coordinating committee efforts, and tracking results.
  • Write thoughtful thank-you notes and impact updates to making stewardship calls and managing donor recognition, you'll ensure every supporter feels informed, appreciated, and inspired.
