About The Position

The Philanthropy Coordinator provides administrative, operational, and programmatic support to the Philanthropy department to advance Tri-Cities Chaplaincy’s fundraising, donor engagement, and community outreach initiatives. This position assists with donor database management, gift processing, donor communications, event coordination, and donor appeals. The Philanthropy Coordinator helps ensure accurate recordkeeping, timely donor acknowledgements, effective coordinator of fundraising campaigns and events, and engagement of donors and volunteers in alignment with the agency’s initiatives that support the agency’s mission and strategic goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education and experience.
  • Two (2) years of nonprofit fundraising, marketing, sales, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including database, word processing, PowerPoint, and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated to act with a high level of excellence.
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, as driving is an essential function of this role. Must meet insurance eligibility requirements.
  • This position is designated as Safety Sensitive. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, which includes cannabis testing in Washington State.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Communications, Public Relations, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Three to five years of nonprofit fundraising experience
  • Experience managing one or more portions of events for audiences exceeding 100 guests.
  • Experience in writing appeal letters, event materials, and other donor communications.
  • Proven track record of meeting revenue goals by building a community of donors
  • General nonprofit accounting knowledge to collaborate with the accounting staff on database entries

Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain donor management databases.
  • Correspond and coordinate with donors by phone, email, and mail.
  • Generate various reports using the donor management database.
  • Develops, plans, and implements strategies, goals, and creative approaches for 3 large events and other less complex programs that promote engagement and philanthropic opportunities to the community.
  • Coordinates with leaders on interests in venue space and speakers.
  • Processes and maintains online event information, registration and relevant databases.
  • Coordinates and implements details such as venue, space, caterers, on-stage talent, audio and video technologies, and other tasks essential to the success of the event.
  • Prepares event plans and summaries.
  • Reviews information and recommends improvements for future events.
  • Organizes and executes administrative aspects of production and distribution of several constituent communications.
  • Includes data manipulation, such as preparing mailing lists to be used for digital and mail projects.
  • Manages timelines and related expenses for all projects
  • Coordinates scripting and copywriting and offers creative direction to departmental partners to develop visual graphics.
  • Track project results and recommend strategies to improve outcomes
  • Optimizes the use of technology for marketing, communications, data reporting, and result analysis.
  • Manages the annual giving program targeting donors giving in the mid-level range
  • Works with Philanthropy Supervisor to implement strategies that will maximize dollars raised and donor participation
  • Completes associated stewardship responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
