About The Position

The Philanthropy Analytics Manager provides reporting and analytical needs of the Philanthropy department, developing and implementing strategies to maximize the software capabilities, allowing the Philanthropy team to make data-informed fundraising decisions. Emphasizing efficiency, this role proactively provides data analysis and reporting, ensures data accuracy, develops efficient workflows, provides documentation support and best practices for donor and membership information management. Key responsibilities encompass optimizing the Philanthropy team’s administrative use of Tessitura, which is The Museum’s chosen CRM system, managing donation entry and acknowledgement processes, creating regular and ad hoc reports to The Museum’s Philanthropy department. The Philanthropy Analytics Manager must be highly analytical and detail-oriented, and preferably have a solid understanding of fundraising and / or membership fundamentals. This is a full-time, regular position that reports directly to the CRM Senior Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in data analytics, report design and creation, and data administration (with museum, non-profit or cultural institution experience preferred).
  • Experience working with CRM systems; Tessitura experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Expert in MS Excel, proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience in writing SOPs.
  • Ability to work and deliver to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver regular and custom reports and providing analytics and related commentary to support fundraising and membership strategy and decision-making.
  • Establish and manage a process for report requests, proactively developing reports to meet evolving departmental needs.
  • Analyze donor data and external information to identify prospective supporters.
  • Build and maintain analytics dashboards.
  • Maintain consistent and accurate entry of member and donor information in The Museum’s CRM system (Tessitura) including personal contact information, pledges and plans for developing and engaging prospective donors.
  • Create and maintain membership and donor, mailing, and email lists for communications and fundraising campaigns.
  • Develop, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Oversee and process all donations in Tessitura, ensuring accurate gift entry and timely acknowledgements.
  • Collaborate with Finance to reconcile donations and produce monthly financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and financial procedures.
  • Assist coordinate fundraising materials and donor communications, such as acknowledgments, appeals, proposals, and invitations.
  • Support the identification of prospective donors and conduct related research.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Philanthropy, Director of Marketing and other Senior Team members on fundraising initiatives.
  • Provide cross-functional system support, training and related procedural materials for the Philanthropy team as needed.
  • Anticipate and plan for the departments future system-related needs.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of donor and organizational information.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to ensure cohesive communication and workflows.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and commitment to the Museum’s mission.
  • Serve as an active and engaged member of the assigned project groups.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
