About The Position
Peoples Rx is a locally owned pharmacy with multiple Austin locations, specializing in compounding and wellness for over 40 years. We are currently hiring a Pharmacy Technician for our pharmacy located within a corporate wellness center in North Austin. As a Pharmacy Technician in this unique setting, youll collaborate not only with pharmacists but also with wellness center staff, nurses, dentists, hygienists, chiropractors, registered dietitians, and physical therapists to provide personalized service to every patient. The ideal candidate has the ability to process a variety of prescriptions in a fast-paced environment and maintains a positive attitude with fellow team members. Our Pharmacy Technicians work promptly, safely and accurately to fill patient prescriptions all while providing a unique customer experience.
Requirements
- Must have active TSBP Pharmacy Technician or Technician Trainee license
- Extraordinary customer service
- Excellent and efficient data entry skills
- Knowledge of pharmacy and relevant terminology
- Registered Pharmacy Technician license with Texas State Board of Pharmacy
- Six months to one year retail pharmacy experience
- Able to lift up to 50lbs and stand for 8 hours
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome all customers- get to know our visitors on a first name basis!
- Operate point-of-sale system, as well as ensure prescription sales meet patient counseling and regulatory compliance standards
- Receive written and electronic prescriptions or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate
- Enter and maintain prescription data using pharmacy software system
- Answer incoming phone calls and field patient questions
- Contact doctors offices or hospitals to clarify prescription information and initiate refill requests
- Specialize in the resolution of prescription insurance claims
- Assist the pharmacist with packaging medications and affixing proper labels
- Maintain the ongoing medication inventory and place medication orders when instructed
