About The Position

The Pharmacy Supervisor – Technician (certified and licensed) provides safe, quality technical and non-technical functions which assist in provision of pharmaceutical care under the supervision and direction of a registered pharmacist in accordance with level of experience, education, policies and procedures. Accountable for leading, managing and advancing people, processes and / or programs that support direct or indirect patient care. The Pharmacy Supervisor – Technician promotes and advocates for patients, technicians, and pharmacy support colleagues. Position Purpose: Responsible for providing leadership, oversight, alignment, and standardization for assigned Pharmacy area/business line. Implements strategic and operational initiatives including new services/programs, revenue enhancement, expense reduction, managed care utilization systems, and strategies. Responsible for ensuring performance excellence in terms of quality, safety, service, affordability, and technology. Oversees drug utilization management efforts, manages educational activities, and provides subject matter expertise in assigned area.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelors Degree is preferred (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Healthcare).
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a pharmacy technician with experience in leading initiatives; internal or external certifications or completion of role specific certification or licensing.
  • Licensure: Current pharmacy technician state licensure where employed.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership – Provides leadership and retains accountability for delegation, choices, decisions and outcomes.
  • Supports alignment and standardization for Pharmacy services across the continuum of care to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care in accordance with professional standards, regulatory and licensing agency policies, and federal and state laws related to the practice of Pharmacy.
  • Acts independently and appropriately within license, scope of knowledge and experience in practice area.
  • Exhibits agility and willingness to take on new and additional responsibilities.
  • Embraces new ideas and cultural differences while managing competing priorities.
  • Quality and Compliance – Supports and promotes a culture based on the principles of continuous quality improvement.
  • Collaborates with health care leaders to establish quality and compliance standards.
  • Monitors quality assurance activities and issues, identifies opportunities, and creates corrective action plans to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Pharmacy Operations – Supports medication safety measures and efficient operational processes.
  • Supports business development, revenue integrity, and 340B program activities.
  • Ensures colleagues are assigned to work areas to achieve established standards for operational support.
