About The Position

AOM Infusion is looking for a Pharmacy Technician Liaison to join our team. This is a full-time role based in our Brooklyn, New York office. The Pharmacy Technician Liaison helps facilitate the efficient operations of the pharmacy by assisting with patient deliveries, scheduling, reporting, and a variety of clerical and administrative tasks as assigned by management. Works under immediate supervision.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • PTCB preferred. If not certified, certification must be obtained within 1 year from date of hire.
  • Have a minimum of six month’s pharmacy technician or related experience and a good working knowledge of pharmacy procedures.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication, computer skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Previous experience with customer service/support, preferably in the medical field.
  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to create and navigate spreadsheets.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty pharmacy or home infusion experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist performing non-clinical duties deemed acceptable by the governing State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Manage scheduling calendar/compounding reports by creating refill reports and reviewing for accuracy, the next RN visit date, auth and renewal Rx if needed.
  • Communicate with patients to coordinate medication delivery. Ask scripted questions and document in electronic medical record. Transfer call to pharmacist when patient counseling is needed or requested.
  • Enter prescription orders, generate labels and delivery tickets under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Track patient deliveries & address issues. Confirm delivery tickets in accordance with AOM policy.
  • Review supply requests and select appropriate quantity of supplies for refills.
  • Enter patient medication profile into electronic medical record for pharmacist review.
  • Answer telephone as needed, direct calls to appropriate person/department.
  • When requested, participate in picking and packing of medical supplies and medications to fill patient orders. Ensure proper packaging of medications for shipping.
  • Participate in monthly physical inventory.
  • Performs any other related task as determined by the Pharmacist or Director of Pharmacy.
