About The Position

Assists the pharmacist in providing optimal pharmaceutical care to the patient. Handles, manages and distributes controlled substances in compliance with regulatory requirements and department policies; and assists with drug diversion surveillance. Accurately performs the duties of a Tech-Check-Tech Pharmacy Technician if qualified. Assists with training new pharmacy staff. Assists with maintaining accurate medication inventories and billing of medications. Effectively communicates utilizing established systems and processes. Performs responsibilities and duties of the job in a manner that is attentive to age and ability considerations. Reports to the Manager-Medication Diversion Prevention. Works closely and collaboratively with Pharmacy Services and other Mayo leadership and staff. Collaborates with and assists other diversion prevention staff across Mayo Clinic sites. Conducts activities and tasks to effectively implement and maintain the medication diversion surveillance program. Participates in the investigation process of suspected medication diversion incidents. Provides support for the Drug Diversion Response Team. Participates in continuous improvement, education and planning activities. Performs other miscellaneous activities, as assigned.
