The Pharmacy Technician II assists the Pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions as permitted by state law. You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • TSBP Registration
  • 2+ years of retail pharmacy experience Or completion of an Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program
  • Demonstrated ability to read merchandise labels and invoices; to ask and answer questions over the phone; to write information on prescriptions
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with customer to handle complains and problems
  • Demonstrated ability to operate computer terminal for processing prescriptions
  • Math cash handling experience - demonstrated ability to add and subtract; able to make change; able to complete daily cash report
  • Ability to type 20 WPM
  • Ability to receive prescriptions and ring up sales in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment, and maneuver around pharmacy

  • PTCB Certification
  • HMO and 3rd Party Managed Care experience
  • 10 key by touch
  • Ability to know when to refer questions, problems, and complaints to a pharmacist

Responsibilities

  • Maintains good customer service by accepting prescriptions or refill requests, processing sales and answering questions for customers
  • Achieves customer satisfaction by promptly processing prescriptions, sales transactions, and answering questions
  • Other duties include stocking and pricing over the counter (OTC) items, maintaining the OTC areas, processing clinic medication requisitions, and other duties as required by the pharmacist
