Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• TSBP Registration
• 2+ years of retail pharmacy experience Or Completion of an Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program
• Ability to read merchandise labels and invoices; to ask and answer questions over the phone; to write information on prescriptions
• Ability to communicate with customers to handle complaints and problems
• Ability to type 20 WPM
• Ability to operate computer terminal for processing prescriptions
• Math cash handling – able to add and subtract; able to make changes; able complete daily cash report
• Stress Tolerance – to receive prescriptions and ring up sales in a fast-paced environment
• Physical stamina – to work in fast paced environment, and maneuver around pharmacy
• Ability to travel to multiple pharmacy locations
• Driver’s license and access to reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

• PTCB Certification
• HMO and 3rd party managed care experience
• Know when to refer questions, problems, and complaints to a pharmacist
• 10 key by touch

Responsibilities

• Assists the Pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions as permitted by state law.
• Maintains good customer service by accepting prescriptions or refill requests, processing sales and answering questions for customers.
• Achieves customer satisfaction by promptly processing prescriptions, sales transactions, and answering questions.
• Other duties include stocking and pricing over the counter (OTC) items, maintaining the OTC areas, processing clinic medication requisitions, and other duties as required by the pharmacist.
