About The Position

St. Luke’s Health System is seeking a Pharmacy Process Coordinator to support inpatient pharmacy operations with a strong focus on process control, compliance, inventory management, and cross-functional collaboration. This role serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for pharmacy operational safety, regulatory compliance, and inventory control while acting as a key liaison between pharmacy, nursing leadership, and system partners. The Pharmacy Process Coordinator will be embedded onsite at St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Hospital (Elks Plaza) and will play a critical role in maintaining safe, compliant, and efficient medication-use processes across inpatient settings.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy Technician (required)
  • PTCB / CPhT Certification (required)
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in pharmacy operations, compliance, inventory management, or process control

Nice To Haves

  • Inpatient pharmacy experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of inpatient pharmacy workflows and medication-use systems
  • Experience working with Omnicell, Epic, and inventory management systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with clinical and non-clinical teams
  • High attention to detail with strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements in daily operations
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to work with nursing leadership and frontline staff

Responsibilities

  • Support inpatient pharmacy operations with a focus on process control, inventory management, and compliance.
  • Work cross-functionally with pharmacy, nursing, compliance, IT, and operational teams to support medication-use processes.
  • Serve as a resource and escalation point for pharmacy technicians, providing guidance on workflows, compliance questions, and operational challenges.
  • Act as the pharmacy operations safety SME, responding to questions related to compliance, inventory standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with low inventory monitoring and maintenance, including proactive mitigation of shortages.
  • Collaborate with teams supporting Omnicell, inventory systems, Epic, and related pharmacy technology.
  • Address ad hoc Epic field issues related to pharmacy workflows and medication management.
  • Partner with the Medication Historian and Meds-to-Beds teams to ensure accurate documentation, safe transitions of care, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide oversight and expertise related to controlled substances management and inventory accountability.
  • Provide support for the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of a proactive process control and compliance program.
  • Assist in the development and execution of the annual risk-based compliance work plan.
  • Support investigations of potential process control or compliance incidents, including: Collaborating with pharmacy, nursing, compliance, and leadership teams Participating in assessments, interviews, meetings, and data review Summarizing findings and supporting corrective action plans
  • Maintain detailed documentation of incidents, including incident logs and supporting records.
  • Monitor and maintain knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, and accreditation standards impacting pharmacy operations.
  • Meet regularly with nursing leadership to ensure compliance with medication storage, handling, and documentation standards.
  • Assist in the design and delivery of training and orientation for pharmacy staff and applicable business partners.
  • Support updates to existing policies and procedures and assist in drafting new policies as needed.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement and sustain pharmacy standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
