About The Position

The Dispatcher prepares medication and supplies to be packaged and generates the accompanying paperwork for delivery. The dispatcher also coordinates and communicates with mobile units and/or courier company, along with the pharmacy to coordinate delivery and pickup of packages to the designated destinations in a cost effective and timely manner. They are required to perform separate roles related to the communication within the company and the couriers in the field. SCHEDULING: We are a 24 hour operation, scheduling will be afternoon/evening. Company does offer a shift differential for qualifying schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Follows daily packaging assignments (selecting appropriate medications for packing) to ensure the delivery of medications occurs on time.
  • Accurately prepares medications for delivery
  • Accurately places completed work in the appropriate area/totes for pick up.
  • Maintain productivity and accuracy standards set by the department
  • Maintain any dispatch related equipment and equipment rentals
  • Responsible for maintaining records, monitoring driver logs, and investigation of courier errors or violations
  • Efficiently manage and coordinate deliveries, routes, and timelines in a cost-effective manner.
  • Ability to multi-task, good organizational and time management skills
  • Maintain neat, clean, and organized work area always
  • Working knowledge of the computer operating system
  • Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer.
  • Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies.
  • Participate in the Pharmacy’s Process Improvement Program as requested by the Process Improvement Director and/or Operations Managers and Supervisors.
  • Participate in pharmacy committees when requested.
  • Participate in in-service education programs provided by the pharmacy.
  • Abide by the company Drug Free Workplace policy. Drug screening is conducted at hire, or may be conducted company-wide, or on request upon reasonable suspicion.
