Reporting to the Clinical Applications Manager, the Clinical Applications Assistant supports the maintenance of Outpatient Pharmacy computer systems to enhance outpatient pharmacy services provided by staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, employee training, report generation and analysis, system implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting of computerized outpatient pharmacy systems, and participation in special projects. The Clinical Applications Assistant must also demonstrate the ability to set priorities, work independently, and perform technician duties as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency
  • Some college preferred
  • Pharmacy Technician Registration with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy required upon hire
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certified required upon hire
  • Minimum three (3) years pharmacy technician experience
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical mathematics
  • Computer knowledge for data entry of prescriptions
  • Knowledge of third party plans and how they are processed
  • Knowledge of drug names (generic and brand)
  • Knowledge and experience with the outpatient pharmacy computer systems and desktop solutions
