JOB SUMMARY:
Dispense medications following prescriptions issued by an authorized medical practitioner. Perform or oversee performance of packaging, labeling, measuring, storing, charging, and recording of medications used in dispensing to members and provide leadership and guidance to supporting staff. Review prescriptions for appropriateness of therapy to determine ingredients needed and to ensure correct dosage. Advise patients and care providers of potential drug interactions, possible side effects, storage information and instructions on how to use medications. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy (minimum). Possess current license to practice pharmacy in state of employment.

• Required to obtain additional state(s) licensure as needed

Responsibilities

• Learn the BeneCard CF Mail order system and other computer systems we use
• Process and verify prescriptions accurately
• Check patient profiles for drug interactions and allergies
• Provide attention to customer, ensuring that both medical professionals and patients are responded to with accurate and timely information
• Aid in processing of insurance claims
• Maintain management of inventory
• Perform clinical evaluations per patient
• Ability to work in teams, providing leadership to enable timely completion of assigned work requirements
• Other duties as assigned
